You know that summer matters. 

It’s when kids have space to play and thrive outside of school. 

But it’s also when kids can fall behind – especially those experiencing disadvantages.

Community members like you bridge that gap for kids by providing fun and enriching experiences, academic learning activities, and critical support like healthy meals at Boys & Girls Clubs of Frederick County.

Your gift keeps the Club affordable for all. We offer scholarships to families in need, and we never turn a family away based on inability to pay. 

One mom whose daughter has been a part of our program for years emailed Club staff requesting financial aid and sharing the following about her current situation:

“I’m honestly stuck between a rock and a hard place right now. I’m already working full time, but with costs continuing to rise, it’s becoming harder to keep up. At the same time, I don’t qualify for state assistance, which leaves me in a really difficult position with limited options to move forward.”

Thanks to supporters like you, we were able to offer her a scholarship that cut their summer camp costs in half!

Your generosity today will allow kids and teens to thrive this summer:

• $25 provides one child with healthy snacks for a day at summer camp
• $50 provides transportation for a summer field trip
• $100 provides supplies for hands-on summer learning programs, like Summer Brain Gain
• $150 covers the registration cost for one child for a week of camp
• $1,200 provides a full summer scholarship for a child in need

The first $10,000 raised through this campaign will be MATCHED by the Mark and Susan Butt Saturday Mornings Fund, so every $1 you give becomes $2! That means your gift of $50 is really a gift of $100 to help send kids to camp!

Last summer, we provided financial aid to 41 youth. This summer have already increased that to 51 youth, and this wouldn’t be possible without your support.

With your support, more Frederick County kids will have access to healthy meals each day, weekly trips to the pool, and fun field trips to places like the park, the movies, Tree Trekkers Outdoor Aerial Adventure, the bowling alley, and more! 

Many of the youth we serve might not otherwise have access to these fun summer experiences. Donate today to give kids the opportunity to make lifetime memories this summer!
